While this landmark decision was a giant step forward in the fight for equal rights for LGBTQ Americans, there is still work to be done before members of the LGBTQ community are truly equal.
Join our interdisciplinary panel of experts to discuss the past achievements, current priorities, and future challenges of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Americans and their allies.
University Club, Ballroom A Megan Block and Mike Healy, attorneys representing the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), will discuss the set of guarantees protected by the First Amendment and how free speech goes hand-in-hand with engaged citizenship.
Pamela W. Connelly, Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Pittsburgh, will provide introductory remarks.
Film screening and Q & A, followed by an interactive workshop on cultural appropriation facilitated by the filmmakers.
