Please join us this Friday, April 19, from 3-5pm in 2628 Cathedral of Learning, to hear our 5 graduating certificate students present their independent research projects. Here is the lineup of students and their exciting topics:

Note on the title of this blog:

The title of the blog commemorates an important event in modern Jewish history that took place in Pittsburgh. The 1885 Pittsburgh Platform defined the principles of "classical" Reform Judaism in America until it was superseded by the Columbus Platform in 1937.

Obviously, this blog and the Jewish studies program does not endorse any particular religious point of view. Our "platform" is not an ideological statement but a metaphorical foundation for announcements and news of interest to students, faculty, and friends of the Jewish Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh.
