Washington Media Institute summer opportunity

Interested in a career in media, public relations or communications? Do you want to spend a semester in DC interning at a top media firm? Admissions representatives with The Washington Media Institute will be on Campus Thursday, January 29th at 1pm in the McCarl Center (1st Floor Wesley William Posvar Hall) to discuss media internships available in DC this Summer and Fall.
What is WMI?:
The WMI program is like a study abroad experience but in the nation’s capital and with a purely media focus. Students attend seminars that sharpen their skills and bring them face to face with industry leaders, all while participating in a professional internship 4 days a week. Participants earn at least 12 credit hours during the semester.
In the past, students have interned at amazing organizations such as:
·  Edelman Public Relations
·  The Georgetowner Magazine
·  NBC Universal
·  Levick Strategic Communications
·  BBC
·  NPR
·  Sirius-XM Radio
·  Smithsonian Magazine
…and many more exciting media organizations.

What will I gain from a semester in Washington?
Our focus is based on one thing, making sure our students are prepared to compete in not just today’s media, but also tomorrow’s. Our students walk away with a professional portfolio of work, an in-depth understand of how the media works and a great network of contacts.

If you are interested in securing an internship in communications, journalism, PR or new media and getting a leg up in the job market -- come speak with a WMI representative
